A marvellous six year old bourbon from the Wilderness Trail range. It comes with a distinctive silver label, which sets it apart from the rest of the distillery’s output. Those extra years in the cask have really helped to lift those oaky notes. It's always a bit of a treat to see bourbon with an age statement, and this one is particularly tasty stuff, with a good helping of rich oak notes sat at the core. Nose: Mature cedar and old oak furniture, with caramelised nuts and red fruit developing a little later on. Palate: Vanilla tablet, chocolate shavings, forest floor, tobacco, brown sugar, peppercorn. Finish: Cask char, cooking spices and another little hint of chocolate.
