Wilderness Trail Small Batch Rye

Think you’ve tried it all? Think again. This is the bourbon drinker’s rye whiskey. We craft Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey with a custom mashbill for a broader balance of flavor. We use a relatively low rye percentage for a rye whiskey and offset the spice of the rye grain with sweetness from a relatively high percentage of corn. Our rye also enters the barrel among the lowest entry proof we’ve encountered in Kentucky (100-105), highlighting the distillate’s nuance. Color: Rich, unfiltered deep amber Nose: Sweet baking spices, oak, dark fruits Taste: Smooth and sweet, giving way to tobacco and brambly red-black fruits, accented by a hint of leather and smoke Finish: Long and rye-led with a sustaining warm oaky sweetness All our whiskeys are best enjoyed neat or on the rocks in a classic sipping glass.
