When it forms a gel, it helps to maintain the normal volume and consistency of stools. Additionally, it has a prebiotic effect which helps for the intestinal tract. PURITY: Psyllium is available in different grades of purity, determined by the percentage of impurities present. Typically, psyllium husk is sold with a purity level of about 95-98%. Our psyllium husk is the purest form available, with a purity exceeding 99%. This means it contains less than 1% impurities, all of which are harmless substances commonly found in this type of product. INSTRUCTION TO USE - Mix 1-2 teaspoons of whole psyllium husk into a full glass of water (at least 8 ounces). Stir immediately and drink it quickly before it thickens.
