Zoo Med Floating Turtle Log: The Ultimate Basking and Hiding Spot for Your Aquatic PetCreate the perfect, stress-free environment for your aquatic pets with the Zoo Med Floating Turtle Log. This exceptionally designed, naturalistic log is an essential addition to any aquatic setup, providing a crucial combination of a basking platform and a secure hiding place. It´s the ideal multi-functional accessory for enhancing the health, comfort, and well-being of your beloved animals within their aquarium or terrarium. The new Floating Turtle Log provides safety, comfort, and helps reduce stress for aquatic turtles, newts, frogs, and tropical fish. This innovative ornament is engineered to promote natural behaviors that are vital for your pet´s life. The hollow log floats on the surface of the water so that turtles can sun themselves or hide inside. The top surface offers an easily accessible basking spot, allowing reptiles to climb completely out of the water to dry off, thermoregulate, and absorb essential heat and UVB light from overhead lamps. This process is critical for proper shell health, digestion, and overall metabolic function.Simultaneously, the submerged, hollow portion of the log creates a dark and secure underwater cavern. This provides a much-needed retreat for shy or stressed animals, giving them a place to feel safe and protected from perceived threats in their environment. By offering a designated hiding spot, the Floating Turtle Log helps to lower cortisol levels, encourage a sense of security, and promote a more active and confident pet.One of the most significant design advancements is its unparalleled stability. The base of the trunk is weighted to prevent it from rolling, even with the weight of two 10cm turtles climbing aboard. This thoughtful engineering ensures that your pets can safely get on and off the platform without the risk of the log tipping over, a common problem with other floating ornaments. This stability provides a reliable and consistent basking and hiding area that your pets can count on.Crafted with a highly realistic, bark-like texture and finish, this log serves as beautiful decor that seamlessly integrates into any natural-themed habitat. It enhances the aesthetic of your setup while providing indispensable functional benefits.Technical Specifications:* Product Name: Zoo Med Floating Turtle Log* Model Number: TL-20* Approximate Dimensions: 10 L x 6 W x 5 H (25.4 cm x 15.2 cm x 12.7 cm)* Category: Pet Supplies* Subcategory: Aquariums and Terrariums* Attributes: Ornaments, Reptiles* Key Feature: Weighted bottom for enhanced stability.* Suitable For: Aquatic Turtles, Newts, Fire Belly Toads, African Dwarf Frogs, Mudskippers, and as a shelter for shy Tropical Fish. tradeinn Bricoinn
