The 7-segment FeatherWing can easily add a 4-digit display with a decimal point, and even be used to make the "second colon dot" of a clock. The LED itself is not connected to the Feather. On the contrary, the matrix driver chip (HT16K33) will perform multiplexing for you. Feather only needs to send the i2c command to the chip, telling it which LEDs to light up, and it will handle it for you. This reduces a significant amount of work and pin requirements for Feather.
