‘Dervenn’ meaning ‘oak’ in Breton is a 10-year-old release from French producer, Armorik. The casks used to mature this whisky were made of oak from the local Breton forest by the last cooper in the region, Jean-Baptise Le Floch. TASTING NOTES – NOSE, Armorik 10 Year Old Dervenn opens with an inviting nose of honeyed pastries and passionfruit, layered with warm cinnamon, leather, and caramelized sugar. Subtle hints of toasted coconut and dried apricot add further intrigue to the aromatic profile. TASTING NOTES – Palate, it begins with a rich, honeyed sweetness that gradually gives way to notes of liquorice, ripe figs, and a delicate smokiness. Accents of white grape, foam banana, and a touch of ginger lend complexity and vibrancy to the experience. TASTING NOTES – Finish, exceptionally long and spicy, with lingering impressions of oak char and citrus. A gentle smoky character weaves through the final notes, a testament to the whisky’s maturation in locally sourced Breton oak. Crafted by the Warenghem Distillery in Brittany, this limited edition single malt—restricted to just 2,000 bottles—showcases the unique influence of regional oak and maritime terroir. It’s a bold yet elegant expression of French whisky craftsmanship.
