How well it covers depends on the colour and material underneath, so allow for a second coat on very dark or absorbent materials. Results vary by surface - non-porous materials such as glass, ceramic and metal need extra drying time for the best finish. Store the pens horizontally with the caps closed and test on scrap paper before you start on the real piece.
