Amazon COGNAC AND GRAPE MUST — A TRULY UNIQUE FRENCH APERITIF — Pineau des Charentes is a protected French appellation made by blending lightly fermented grape must with Cognac eau-de-vie. Braastad's Pineau uses Cabernet Franc grapes blended with two-year-old Cognac, creating a naturally sweet, gently fortified wine with a richness and complexity that standard aperitifs cannot match. 36 MONTHS IN LIMOUSIN OAK — After blending, the Pineau rests for a full 36 months in Limousin oak casks at the Braastad estate in Jarnac. This extended barrel maturation gives the wine a noticeably rounded, velvety texture and integrates the Cognac into the fruit seamlessly. The oak adds subtle spice and depth without masking the wine's natural sweetness. NOTES OF DRIED FRUIT, BAKED APPLE, AND MARMALADE — Yellow-gold in colour with a floral and dried fruit nose. The palate is fresh and sweet, marked by baked apple and orange marmalade, with a well-balanced finish that combines persistence, sweetness and a creamy smoothness. Lower in alcohol at 17.5% ABV — ideal for those who want the pleasure of a full-flavoured aperitif without the strength of a standard fortified wine. MADE AT CHATEAU DE TRIAC SINCE 1875 — The Pineau is produced at the same estate where Braastad has made Cognac since Mederic Tiffon established the house in 1875. Norwegian founder Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family in 1913, bringing the house into its modern era. Today, Master Blender Richard Braastad — fifth generation — oversees every product made on the family's 40-hectare Charente estate. SERVE CHILLED AS AN APERITIF OR WITH FOOD — Serve well-chilled (8-10 degrees C) straight over ice, or long with quality tonic water and a slice of orange. Works beautifully as a rich aperitif alongside charcuterie, melon, foie gras and soft cheeses. An authentic taste of the Charente that has been enjoyed by French families as an aperitif for generations. An excellent, unusual gift for wine and spirits enthusiasts.
