The pad return has now been optimised to ensure there's no friction when the brake lever is released. A special metal plate, positioned between the pad and the calliper piston, cushions the vibrations during braking. The different Campagnolo brake callipers were designed to be mounted together with the disc chosen by the cyclist and to always guarantee high-level performance: the brake calliper can be chosen with a disc measuring either 140 mm (only for cyclists weighing no more than 82 kg) or 160 mm in diameter. Special attention was paid to making maintenance and assembly simple: the pads have wear indicators and replacing them is made easier by the absence of physical return springs.
