A special metal plate, positioned between the pad and the calliper piston, cushions the vibrations during braking. The different Campagnolo brake callipers were designed to be mounted together with the disc chosen by the cyclist and to always guarantee high-level performance: the brake calliper can be chosen with a disc measuring either 140 mm (only for cyclists weighing no more than 82 kg) or 160 mm in diameter.
