The ZERØ ceramic bearings have ceramic balls and steel treads. The balls are of class 3, silicon nitride (Si3n4). These are the roundest balls you can buy without a military license. The cages are treated with a black oxide coating, which helps prevent rust formation in the bearing. The races are ground again after this treatment to a mirror finish. Finally, before assembly, they are treated cryogenically for strength. We also use silicone VV seals, the lightest drag seal available on the market.
