Splice boxes are overwhelming installed in the network cabinet to bundle the optic fibre cables that run there - comparable to a patch panel for installation cables made of copper. In the network cabinet, the signal of the fibre optic cable can be sent to switch, media converter, router, modem, server, SFP modules or FTTH / FTTB house entry sockets. The fibre pigtails used are in contrasting colours according to DIN IEC 60304 and inserted into the splicing cassette(s). The casing material is 1 mm thick sheet steel, which is painted in grey (RAL 7035) or powder-coated. The splice box is already pre-celebrated - a fitted splice cassette and corresponding couplings for the front plate are already installed.
