Splicing boxes are overly installed in the network cabinet to bundle the fibre optic cables that run there - comparable to a patch panel for copper installation cables. In the network cabinet, the signal of the fibre optic cable can be patched to switch, media converter, router, modem, server, SFP modules or FTTH / FTTB home input sockets. The fibre pigtails used are colour-contrasting according to DIN IEC 60304 and inserted into the splicing cassette(s). As the housing material, 1 mm thick sheet steel is used, which is painted or powder coated in the colour grey (RAL 7035). The splicing box is already pre-cut - a equipped splicing cassette and corresponding couplings for the front plate are already installed.
