Caravaggio™ designer pendant light - an aesthetically designed light source for basic and area lighting Danish designer Cecilie Manz, whose aim in her work is to create products that are simple and beautiful in the tradition of Scandinavian style, but also have modern international elements, has created a light source that fulfils all of these criteria with the Caravaggio™ pendant light. The Caravaggio™ pendant light is ideal as an area light source, e.g. to illuminate a dining table or counter, but also finds its purpose as the main light source in a room. After training at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Cecilie Manz founded her own company. She carries out her work in the traditional way - alone in her Studio - she draws her designs on paper and devotes herself to moulding her objects in the basement. Her work reflects Cecilie Manz's own expression: perfecting the Scandinavian tradition of simplicity with a modern, international aspect. Cecilie Mite has been honoured for her work with the Berlin Art Prize (2008) and the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2009), among others. Some of her pieces are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum Danmark. The FRITZ HANSEN company was founded in 1885 after the cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen was granted a trading licence for Copenhagen in 1872. The company gained a high reputation for its high-quality products and collaboration with well-known designers in the first 50 years of its existence. The premium quality characterises the products of the company, which has no longer been family-owned since 1979, but is now largely owned by Skandinavisk Holding. Since its launch in the 1930s, high-quality furniture made of plywood has been the Fritz Hansen trademark. Many renowned architects and designers, such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner and Verner Panton, have worked with Fritz Hansen.

Lamp MastersCecilie Manz’s overall goal with this elegant collection was to create a simple and soft shape that works for both a large and a small pendant. A design icon since its launch in 2005, the Caravaggio family has grown to include table and floor lamps in a range of sophisticated colours and finishes and is more popular today than ever. During the design process the lamp evolved through a series of different shapes, resulting in Caravaggio’s softly feminine lines. The depth of the shade ensures that the pendant doesn’t create glare regardless of the height of suspension. Caravaggio is equipped with a hole at the top to ensure upward-facing light that illuminates both suspension and cable. The textile cable and chrome-plated suspension hardware compliment the curves of the shade, giving the Caravaggio P2 in BlackBlack a sense of harmony and grace.
