Aesthetically designed Caravaggio™ pendant light in Scandinavian style – with an opal glass lampshade This version of the Caravaggio™ pendant light by Danish designer Cecilie Manz features a hand-blown opal glass lampshade that allows the light from the bulb to shine directly downwards and glare-free to the sides through the glass. The minimalist design with modern features is typical of the work of Cecilie Manz, who came into contact with design at an early age through her parents' artistic activities. She then studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1992 and subsequently completed a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. The artist, who prefers to work alone in her own studio, which she founded after completing her studies, sketches her ideas on paper and gives shape to her designs in her workshop in the basement of the studio. She says that she regards her works as fragments of a large, ongoing story in which projects are often connected or related to each other in terms of their ideas, materials and aesthetics, transcending time and function. However, her creativity is not limited to lighting design; she also designs ceramics, home accessories and furniture. The decorative Caravaggio™ glass pendant light is manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, a Danish company that, in its history dating back to 1872, has collaborated with renowned designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Bruno Mathsson, Kaare Klint, Verner Panton and Hans J. Wegner, and is regarded as a guarantor of quality products that have achieved iconic design status far beyond the borders of Denmark.
