Height-adjustable designer floor lamp Kaiser idell™ Luxus This floor lamp has enjoyed unbroken popularity since its first edition in 1931. Kaiser idell™ Luxus is made entirely of steel with chrome-plated brass elements and epitomises the popular Bauhaus style. The Kaiser idell™ Luxus floor lamp was designed by Christian Dell (1893-1974). Christian Dell, born in Offenbach, initially trained as a silversmith in Hanau and then went to the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts in WEIMAR to study under Henry van de Vane. From 1922 to 1925, he was foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus Weimar. From 1926, he developed lights, often for the Gebr. Kaiser & Co. lamp factory. After the Second World War, he produced silverware and ran a jewellery shop in Wiesbaden, as he had done in his early years. With its asymmetrical shade and patented swivel joint, the Kaiser idell™ floor lamp brings the stylish Bauhaus design into the home and provides cosy additional lighting, which can also be adapted to individual circumstances thanks to the height adjustment of the joint and the easily rotatable lampshade. The Kaiser idell™ floor lamp is manufactured by the Danish company FRITZ HANSEN. The traditional company still bears the name of its founder, Fritz Hansen, even though 75% of it was transferred to Skandinavisk Holding in 1979 after more than 100 years of pure family ownership. FRITZ HANSEN stands for products by renowned designers such as Cecilie Manz, Bodil Kjær, Bruno Mathsson, Verner Panton, Arne Jacobsen and Kasper Salto.

Lamp MastersKaiser Idell was silversmith Christian Dell’s suggestion for a Bauhaus lighting collection – it doesn’t get more original than that. The Kaiser Idell Floor Lamp model 6580-F in high-gloss black offers precision techniques and excellent craftsmanship. Its unique and high quality exudes originality, but also offers exceptional sculptural quality and a stringently clean design. The collection is focused on the patented swivel joint and the incredibly characteristic shade is easy to recognise, thanks to the stamp on the top that confirms the project to be an “ORIGINAL KAISER-idell”. The original lamps in the collection started selling in 1936 and to this day, they are characterised by their excellent German design, impeccable choices of material, and precision technique.
