The responsible designer Christian Dell comes from Offenbach and was a trained silversmith before he went to Weimar. There he studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts with Henry van de Velde and later became a teacher of industrial design and master craftsman at the Bauhaus Weimar. The Kaiser idell™ lamp series is produced by FRITZ HANSEN in the usual quality. The Danish traditional company from Copenhagen works with many well-known designers such as Arne Jacobsen or Hans J. Wegner. The quality craftsmanship made the company known far beyond the borders of Denmark

Kaiser Idell was silversmith Christian Dell’s suggestion for a Bauhaus lighting collection – it doesn’t get more original than that. Kaiser Idell 6718-W Wall Lamp Scissor Lamp Easy Grey offers precision techniques and excellent craftsmanship. Its unique and high quality exudes originality, but also offers exceptional sculptural quality and a stringently clean design. The collection is focused on the patented swivel joint and the incredibly characteristic shade is easy to recognise, thanks to the stamp on the top that confirms the project to be an “ORIGINAL KAISER-idell”. The original lamps in the collection started selling in 1936 and to this day, they are characterised by their excellent German design, impeccable choices of material, and precision technique.
