The designer responsible, Christian Dell, comes from Offenbach and was a trained silversmith before moving to Weimar. There he studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts under Henry van de Velde and later became a teacher of industrial design and master craftsman at the Bauhaus Weimar. The Kaiser idell™ series of lights is produced by FRITZ HANSEN in the usual high quality. The traditional Danish company from Copenhagen works with many well-known designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Hans J. Wegner.
