Design table lamp 5321 with shell-shaped shade in brass The Finnish designer Paavo Tynell (1890 - 1973) often drew inspiration for his creations from the diversity of nature and added a touch of playful nature and romanticism to the minimalist creations of modernism. This is also evident in this extravagant table lamp. Its shade is modelled on a shell, in which the inserted lamp takes on the role of a shell pearl. Another natural detail is the rattan frame. The design of the table lamp 5321 dates back to 1938 and, in addition to a cosy additional light, the table lamp also exudes an incomparable flair of elegance and convinces with its flawless finish, which characterises the products of the Danish manufacturer Gubi. Paavo Tynell - a trained blacksmith and master craftsman - founded the metalworking and lighting company Oy Taito AB in 1918 with Emil Wickström, Eric Ehrström, Frans Nykänen and Gösta Serlachius. In the early years, they produced metalwork for interiors and exteriors, such as statues and cutlery, before moving on to lighting in the 1930s. Tynell, who was managing director and head designer at Oy Taito until his retirement in 1953, also worked for Alvar Aalto and Aarne Ervi, who used Tynell's design products for many of his projects.

Lamp MastersThe 5321 table lamp Brass/Brass is a wonderful table lamp designed by Paavo Tynell in 1939. The Finnish designer was inspired by nature, resulting in a distinct oyster lampshade that holds a light source in the place of a pearl. The pairing of a playful design and a romantic expression is the trademark of Paavo Tynell’s designs that often contain polished brass details. The elegant table lamp adds personality to your décor and works well as both a desk lamp and a touch of warm lighting on your dresser or nightstand. The retro design stands in a lovely, sharp contrast to the minimalism of the modern home.
