Functional wall light BL5 with plug and switch - design classics by Robert Dudley Best The famous Bestlite series of lamps began in 1927/28, when Robert Dudley Best, heir to the British company Best & Lloyd, created the flexible table lamp BL1 during his studies. He subsequently expanded the lamp series, which was designed according to the criteria of the Bauhaus style, to include wall, floor and pendant lamps. The BL5 wall luminaire is flexible in its orientation thanks to a vertical wall rail, a tiltable arm and a shade fixed by means of a universal joint. Power is supplied directly from a socket via the associated plug cable, which also houses the switch. The Bestlite series is one of the timeless lighting classics and is often used by designers and architects for the technical lighting equipment of homes, hotels and restaurants. Since 2004, the well-known lamp series has been produced in Denmark by the manufacturer Gubi according to the original designs in the highest quality.
