Gräshoppa designer floor lamp with adjustable head – a design icon by Greta Magnusson Grossman The Gräshoppa floor lamp's slightly tilted tripod base gives it a lively touch, making it a trendy interior accessory for many living areas. Its head is conical in shape and can be adjusted in orientation so that the direction of the light can be adapted to individual needs. Gräshoppa is conveniently switched on and off via the foot switch integrated into the power cable. The design is by Swedish design pioneer Greta Magnusson Grossman and was first introduced in 1947. Greta Magnusson Grossman (1906-1999) studied at the renowned Konstfack art school in Stockholm and opened her own studio in 1933 – a combination of shop and workshop. After marrying jazz musician Billy Grossman, she moved to California in 1940, opened a shop on the famous Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles and was one of the first to bring modern Scandinavian style to North America. Prominent artists of the time such as Joan Fontaine, Greta Garbo, Frank Sinatra and Ingrid Bergman were among her customers. Danish brand manufacturer Gubi is a leader in design and interior decoration: founded in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen, the company operates worldwide and produces high-quality designer furniture and lighting.

Lamp MastersThe iconic Gräshoppa floor lamp in Vintage Red was created in 1947 by Greta M. Grossman - a pioneer for women in the design world. The unique base for the Gräshoppa floor lamp is tilted backwards, giving the impression that the lamp is somehow alive. As one of Grossman’s most iconic designs, this distinctive lamp has an elongated conical shade that can be rotated to direct the light in whichever direction you need.
