Multi-LIte designer pendant Multi-Lite - Chrome frame This pendant luminaire is something very special: its shade consists of metal elements that can be slid around the central cylinder in different ways, so that a completely individual configuration with light emission upwards, downwards or asymmetrically can be created at any time. The creative mastermind behind this fascinating possibility of home lighting is Louis Weisdorf (*1932), a well-known Danish architect and designer. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, he devoted himself to industrial, graphic and interior design and worked in a wide range of fields, including the leisure sector and construction. For ten years, he worked as chief assistant to the chief architect Simon P. Henningsen (son of the legendary lighting designer Poul Henningsen) at the Copenhagen amusement park Tivoli. In the late 1960s he founded his own design studio in Copenhagen. During his active time he worked with other renowned designers, including Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and Le Klint. The Multi-Lite pendant lamp is manufactured by the Danish manufacturer Gubi, which has specialised in the production of high-quality furniture and lamps since its foundation by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen in 1967.

Lamp MastersThe Multi-lite s Pendant Chrome/Black was designed by Louis Weisdorf back in 1972. It consists of two inner, cylindrical lampshades while the two-quarter lampshades in a spherical shape make up the outer lampshades and can be rotated individually around the axis. The distinct lamp is easily adjusted from one setting to the other, directing the light upwards or downwards, or creating an asymmetrical or artistic light. The construction of the lamp and the adjustable lampshades ensures the utmost functionality and invites you to play around with the light. The lamp is available in a range of colours and shaped like a ring of either brass or chrome. The glossy metals continue to dominate in Scandinavian interior design, and they give rise to a unique expression when paired with the Nordic style. Place the lamp above your dining or coffee table, and allow it to illuminate the meeting point. You can also place it in one of the dark corners of your home, letting it light up the room and contribute a decorative expression to the atmosphere.
