Lights.co Versatile designer pendant light Multi-Lite – chrome frame This pendant light is something very special: its lampshade consists of metal elements that can be moved around the central cylinder in different ways, allowing you to create your own individual configuration with light shining upwards, downwards or asymmetrically. The creative mind behind this fascinating living space lighting option is Louis Weisdorf (born 1932), a well-known Danish architect and designer. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, he devoted himself to industrial, graphic and interior design and worked in a wide variety of fields, including the leisure sector and the construction industry. For ten years, he worked as the chief assistant to head architect Simon P. Henningsen (son of legendary lighting designer Poul Henningsen) at the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen. In the late 1960s, he founded his own design studio in Copenhagen. During his active career, he collaborated with other renowned designers, including Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and LE KLINT. The Multi-Lite pendant light is manufactured by Danish company Gubi, which has specialised in the production of high-quality furniture and lighting since its foundation in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen.

Lamp Masters

The Multi-Lite pendant light S embodies the golden era of Danish design with its characteristic shape consisting of two opposing, adjustable lampshades that make it possible to create a personal impression and a wide range of light intensity in the room. The rotatability of the lampshades allows the light to be directed upwards, downwards or even to one side. The light is available in different colours and is surrounded by a brass or chrome ring. Shiny metals are still a hit in Scandinavian interiors and create a unique look, especially in Nordic style. Place it above the sofa or dining table, where it will shine around your focal point in the room. In one of the dark corners of the house, it will illuminate the room and create a decorative expression. Multi-Lite was first designed in 1972, when Louis Weisdorf made an exception to his own design style, which usually featured several identical elements. Instead, the design reflects his passion for diversity. Two cylinders form the base of the light, surrounded by a metal ring that anchors the two lampshades, completing the iconic multi-purpose design. The Multi-Lite pendant light has a timeless design that fits into any interior.
