The first example of the Multi-Lite series was created in 1972: the complete creative diversity of its designer - the Dane Louis Weisdorf, born in 1932 - is reflected in this impressive light object. After graduating from the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Weisdorf worked in a variety of fields, from construction to the amusement industry. From 1961 to 1971 he was chief assistant to Simon Henningsen, the chief architect of the Copenhagen Tivoli. From the late 1960s he worked in his own studio in Copenhagen, which he shared with the architect Ole Panton. It consists of two inner, cylindrical lampshades while the two-quarter lampshades in a spherical shape make up the outer lampshades and can be rotated individually around the axis.
