The Turbo pendant light Ø62 Glossy Alabaster White/White was designed in 1965 by Louis Weisdorf, but only went into production in 1967 and has enjoyed great success over the years. The design exemplifies style at its best: it is simple in form but complex in structure, combining a sense of lightness and strength in a beautiful sculptural pendant. The inspiration for the lamp comes from Japanese rice paper lamps, which have been transformed into a more durable and robust version. The outer baskets of the lamp are made of twelve similar spiral slats that form a flower-like planet that protects the light. The Turbo pendant is a perfect example of Weisdorf's passion for multiplying multiple elements, which he used in most of his works.
