The MAX7219 is an integrated serial input/output common cathode display driver. It is connected to a microprocessor and an 8-digit 7-segment digital LED display. Operating Voltage: 5V；a single module can drive a 8x8 dot matrix common cathode. Including type B BCD coder, multiple scanning circuit and segment driver. A static RAM(8 * 8) is used to save data. The entire device includes a 150μA low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register that allows users to display 1-8 bits of data, and a detection mode that allows all LEDs to emit light. Module with input and output interfaces, support for cascading multiple modules.
