Hammerite Smooth Direct To Rust Metal Paint is a versatile 750ml coating designed to be applied directly onto rusty surfaces, serving as primer, undercoat, and topcoat in one. It forms a durable barrier that seals out moisture, protecting metal from rust and corrosion for indoor and outdoor use. The paint provides a smooth, glossy black finish and can cover approximately 5 square metres per litre. It is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and wood, and can be applied directly onto rusty areas without a separate primer. For galvanised, zinc, or aluminium surfaces, a suitable primer should be used first. Drying times are described as touch dry within 1–2 hours, with recoatable after 4 hours. The product is designed to deliver up to 8 years of rust protection and remains a convenient, time-saving option for exterior metal projects such as gates, railings, drainpipes, guttering, and garden furniture.
