As Hestia Herbs does always want to evolve, it is introducing a new herb, spearmint, cultivated in its open fields in Thessaly, central Greece, which is sundried after the harvest in order to preserve all its natural qualities. Spearmint is one of the most popular and widely used herbs in the world for culinary purposes. Its leaves are used either fresh or dried to flavour many dishes, and particularly sweets, salads, cheeses, soups, meats and fish, as well as beverages. As its principal component is carvone, it can used to add some flavour to sweets, jellies, toothpastes and some scent to candles which can be done by its essential oil. It can be used as flavouring in foods. Besides that, it has minty flavour and fragrance, which is similar to peppermint, but a lot sweeter. Keep it in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark location, away from heat and humidity, and always use a dry spoon to preserve its freshness for up to two years.
