HOLYROOD DISTILLERY: Holyrood Distillery was established in 2019 in the centre of Edinburgh’s historic old town. We pride ourselves on our innovative approach to distilling, inspired by Edinburgh’s rich brewing history. EMBRA: Our award-winning peated single malt. The mindset for Embra was to create a whisky that resembled a gateway to the world of peated whisky. Edinburgh is the gateway to Scotland for many people and this is the idea at the heart of this spirit. LIGHTLY PEATED: For seasoned or new whisky lovers. Embra finds the perfect balance between capturing the classic bold smoky flavours and textures of great lightly peated whisky, while remaining accessible to a new whisky drinkers. THE PROCESS: Embra undergoes a triple maturation process, utilizing a blend of first-fill bourbon barrels, Islay quarter casks, and new American oak barrels to achieve its distinctive flavor profile. Embra is a testament to the art of whisky making. TASTING NOTES: Aromas of lemon zest, horse chestnut pith, hints of peppermint and light hickory smoke. Palate of wafer biscuits, dark chocolate mousse and notes of earthy highland peat smoke. Well rounded finish and clean with light notes of stewed pears.
