Like little birds, they seem to be just leaving their nest and fluttering through the room. This impression is created by transparent cables and flexible metal wires, which keep the lamps connected to the ceiling canopy despite their desire for freedom. Thanks to the flexibility of the wires, the unusual light birds can always be given a different direction of flight. The designer Ingo Maurer is known for his unusual, creative lighting designs, which inspire again and again with special tricks. Ingo Maurer’s Birdie's Nest is part of an exciting and unique collection - each lamp is made by hand. It’s distinctive look and whimsical personality is a perfect example of the brand’s design philosophy. The iconic bulbs with wings are a unique component of the Birdie collection and comply with EU regulations, as an exception to Regulation (EC) 244/2009. The wings on the unique light sources are made of goose feathers. Each purchase includes spare bulbs, and you can order more spares via our webshop. The lamps in the collection are dimmable, so if you fancy you can adjust the special light sources to suit your needs. Only the most experienced specialists in the manufacturing process can create these lamps by hand. It is a complicated process that takes time, so if you want a Birdie's Nest you have to special order it – expect a delivery time of 4-5 weeks.
