The Irwin Metric TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) Drill Bits are designed for precision drilling in hard materials using stationary drills. The C2 carbide tip enables drilling through materials up to 50 Rockwell C, while four-face diamond-ground carbide geometry supports low drilling pressure and accurate centering. The drill bit body is made from Chrome Vanadium Steel tempered to 56 Rockwell C, providing durability for demanding applications such as hardened steel, cast iron, bronze alloys, and manganese alloyed steel. For optimal performance and extended tool life, a coolant should be used during drilling with TCT bits, with a recommended coolant emulsion of 3–6%.
