Montanya Exclusiva Rum 70cl 40%

Quite possibly, the most sustainable craft rum in the world in their B-Corp certified rum distillery Montanya’s long list of sustainability credentials include plastic neutral certification, 100% wind powered, offset 110% of their carbon production and use water from a snowmelt-fed aquifer directly underneath the distillery. Environmental obligations are considered at every step, from sourcing sugarcane from a family run co-operative in Louisiana, to bottling in Cradle to Cradle certified glass and FSC graded labels. The Exclusiva is barrel aged for a total of three years—two and a half in an American White Oak barrel that previously held Colorado whiskey, followed by six months in a French Oak barrel that previously aged Sutcliffe Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Port. This aged rum has a dry, tannic finish that is very rare in aged rums. The flavour profile is extremely complex as cinnamon meets red wine, honey meets vanilla, and none of the above overwhelm your palate with sweetness. Plus, no added sugar.
