The NGK Y-706R is a genuine NGK glow plug.NGK glow plugs provide the heat a diesel engine needs for a clean cold start. The heater element is sealed inside a metal sheath, or a ceramic sheath on the fast-heating types, and reaches well over 800 degrees C within seconds of the ignition being switched on. A quick, even glow improves starting in cold weather, reduces white smoke and rattle in the first minutes of running, and on later engines supports the post-heating phase that keeps combustion clean while the engine warms through.
