2001 Nobel Prizes Presentation Pack printed no. 327 (PP295) Issued by the Royal Mail on 2nd October 2001. Marking the Centenary of the Nobel Prizes, this pack features six previous winners each giving their thoughts on one of six Prize categories. There is also a list of all the UK winners up to 2001. The pack contains a set of six stamps and they are perhaps the most extraordinary stamp issue that the Royal Mail have ever released. The 2nd stamp uses silk-screen printed thermochromic ink, which changes colour to reveal the nucleus of the molecule when the ink is warmed by the heat of the hand; 1st Class uses intaglio printing; the E Class has an embossed Dove of Peace; when scratched the centre of the green cross on the 40p emits an odour reminiscent of Eucalyptus; the 45p uses micro printing high magnification; and the 65p uses a hologram as it's central element. Ideal as a gift or keepsake.
