So that the spherical head of the lamp, which gives both targeted and diffused light, can be tilted and thus change the height of the light, the cylindrical base is designed as a heavy counterweight, so that the lamp does not tip over and is always balanced - as its name suggests. Straight lines and here and there round shapes, for example at the head of the lamp and at the connection between the fixed base and the pivoting arm, result in a harmonious mix of clear and yet not too hard shapes.
