The Birdy Wall Lamp in Grey proves that good withstands the test of time. Birdy is an elegant collection consisting of table lamps, floor lamps and wall lamps of two different sizes. The was put together in 1952 in a modernist style that still holds up today. The colour range of the collection offers Black/Brass and White/Chrome, and Grey/Metallic, making Birdy useful in many different situations. Birdy is an award-winning collection that was manufactured and sold by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico in Oslo for years. The table lamp was once awarded the Golden Medal at Triennalen in Milan, although back then it was known as "s-30016". Birdy’s a little easier to remember. NB The lampshade is the same colour inside and out. After a few years in the archives, the lamps were put back into production in 2013 when Northern Lighting decided to re-launch the classic. A lot of effort has gone into maintaining the original shape and the functional properties that ensured the lamp’s success back in the day.

The design, which originates from the 1950s, was developed by the Norwegian designer Birger Dahl (1916-1998). Dahl's designs stand for clear forms that do not hide behind decorative flourishes. The cone-shaped shade of the Birdy wall lamp and its puristic appearance also stand for Dahl's typical style.
