Description
Osmo UV Protection Oil Tints in Cedar is a lightly pigmented, satin oil-based finish designed to protect exterior timber while preserving a natural look. This microporous coating helps wood resist weathering and the greying effect of UV exposure, maintaining colour with a tinted Cedar hue. Formulated to be easy to apply and renovate, it provides durable defence for vertical joinery such as windows, doors, cladding and fencing. The product is designed for outdoor use across a temperature range of +5°C to 35°C, with two coats recommended and a typical drying time of around 12 hours between applications.
With a UV protection factor of 12 relative to untreated timber, it helps slow the greying process and reduces moisture-related movement. The finish is water and dirt resistant, moisture-regulating, and breathable due to its microporous nature, which helps minimise swelling and shrinkage. It also offers protection against mould, algae and fungal growth, contributing to timber longevity. The product is solvent-based with a high V.O.C content and is marketed as professional-grade exterior wood oil that resists cracking, flaking, peeling or blistering. It is designed for vertical surfaces and aims to prolong the life of timber by preventing common weathering issues while enabling straightforward maintenance and renovation. Sanding is not required for future re-application.
