Single malt Welsh whisky from Penderyn’s Icons of Wales collection honours Prime Minister David Lloyd George. It was matured in Jamaican rum and ruby port casks before being bottled at 46 % ABV in a 70 cl glass bottle. This expression is non-chill-filtered, crafted with pure Brecon Beacons spring water, and presented in a distinctive, weighty bottle bearing the series branding. TASTING NOTES – Nose, The aroma opens with red berries, strawberries and cream, underpinned by a hint of cranberries, light oak and vanilla. Warming spice of nutmeg and cinnamon adds further depth to the bouquet. TASTING NOTES – Palate, A lush, sweet core of dried fruits is joined by notes of salted caramel and floral honey. A spicy black-pepper kick weaves through gentle tannins to create balanced complexity. TASTING NOTES – Finish, Begins sweet on entry before evolving into a dry-yet-fruity fade, leaving lasting echoes of berry and spice. SERVE - This whisky is best enjoyed neat in a tulip or Glencairn glass to appreciate its full spectrum of aromas and flavours. Adding a few drops of still water will open out the rum and port cask characteristics, revealing hidden layers. It also pairs beautifully with a square of dark chocolate or makes a refined base for a citrus-twist Old Fashioned.
