A thorough cleaning is essential; use a stiff brush to scrub the surface, removing dirt and any loose wood or coatings. For the best results, consider using a dedicated Decking Cleaner & Reviver, which will improve adhesion and longevity of the paint. After cleaning, rinse the deck thoroughly, ideally with a jet wash, and allow it to dry completely.

# Applying the Paint

Before you start painting, stir the Ultimate Protection Decking Paint thoroughly to ensure an even consistency. Test the colour on a small, inconspicuous area of the deck to ensure satisfaction. Use a brush or decking pad to apply the paint, starting in a corner and working in manageable sections of 3-4 boards to avoid overlap marks. If your decking has small cracks, make sure to apply extra paint to those areas to fill them in completely.
