Written in English and Welsh this pack marks the publication in 1988 of the New Welsh Bible, with details of its origins in 1567 and subsequent revisions up to 1588. Contains images of the Title page of several Bible editions. This stamp issue celebrated the 400 years since the first Bible in Welsh was completed by William Morgan, later Bishop of St Asaph. It was made possible by the passing of an Act in Parliament which decreed the translation of the Bible into Welsh. Bishop Morgan took ten years to complete his translation.
