TIMCO Self-Drilling Wing-Tip Screws are designed for attaching wood to metal, up to a maximum wood thickness of 12 mm. The wing-tip design reams timber to enable efficient drilling, allowing the screw to achieve high RPMs without overheating. When the wings contact metal, they break off, permitting the thread to self-tap into the metal. The screws feature a hardened carbon steel drill tip fused to an A2-304 Austenitic stainless steel body, making them suitable for metal-to-wood applications with a robust bi-metal construction.
