The TIMCO Self-Drilling Wing-Tip Steel to Timber Light Section exterior screws are designed to join wood to metal up to 5 mm thick. Featuring a coarse self-tapping thread with wings, the design reams timber to allow the screw to reach high RPMs without burning out. As the wings contact metal, they break off to enable the thread to continue self-tapping into the metal.
