The TIMco Twin Thread Zinc Countersunk Woodscrew is a traditional twin-thread fastener designed for general use in softwood and various hardwoods. It features a single lead start for fast installation and is effective in soft timber applications or masonry when used with a plastic plug. Key details include its size (8 x 2 1/4 inches), C10-18 steel composition, zinc plating (3–5 microns), and surface hardness up to 750 HV with core hardness up to 450 HV. The screw is partially threaded from 1 1/4 inches, double countersunk to reduce head shear and aid countersinking, and provides faster insertion and greater pull-out resistance thanks to its 60° twin-threads with a parallel shank. Its 25° sharp point and single lead contribute to a fast start and improved thread acceptance, and it is designed and manufactured to BS 1210 standards.
