Delve into a story that masterfully intertwines political conflict with a deeply personal journey of identity and memory. The narrative ignites with a violent and pivotal moment: the young Basque Josu has been gravely injured while attempting to flee a Guardia Civil checkpoint after setting a truck ablaze. A single bullet has penetrated his left lobe, and with it, his entire past has been erased. He is left with a profound and unsettling amnesia, a blank slate where a life of conviction once stood. Now, he is being treated in a prison hospital, his future uncertain as he awaits the critical decision of the judge and the competent authority. Within these walls, a different kind of pressure mounts. Other Basque prisoners surround him, committed to helping him remember who he really is, urging him to reclaim an identity forged in the fires of conflict.Meanwhile, outside the hospital, the intricate and often volatile events continue their course in the Basque Country. Xabier, a respected university professor, finds his life under threat. His very critical opinions about the turbulent situation in Euskadi have made him a target for ETA, placing him in imminent danger. Xabier´s personal and professional life becomes further complicated through his involvement with one of his students, an insightful Italian woman named Francesca, who also works as a psychologist in a psychiatric institution. In a remarkable and fateful turn, it is precisely into Francesca's care that Josu is placed, with the clinical objective of helping him recover his lost memory. This sets the stage for an intense and morally complex psychological drama. Francesca is dedicated to her professional duty, determined to help him unlock the secrets buried within his mind. But as she probes deeper, the central, haunting question of the film emerges: does Josu truly want to recover his memory and confront the man he has been, or does he prefer the sanctuary of forgetting, to escape the weight of his past actions?Starring a formidable cast, this film is a gripping exploration of guilt, responsibility, and the elusive nature of the self. This DIVISA Blu-ray edition allows you to appreciate every nuanced performance and the stark beauty of the cinematography as intended by the director.Attributes:* Format: Blu-ray* Language: SpanishTechnical Specifications:* Subtitles: Spanish, English* Aspect Ratio: 1.85:1* Runtime: 100 min.
