[Varieties] Pinot Nero 100% [Alcohol] 13.5% [Vinification] Hand harvested and picked from a carefully selected plot in one of our highest vineyards. Destemmed, pressed, temperature-controlled fermentation. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months and then a further year in bottle. [Taste and flavour profile] On the nose, vanilla, cinnamon, blue raspberry, fresh plum, balsamic notes. It has good acidity balanced by well-integrated tannins. South facing organic certified vineyards located 490 – 530 metres a.s.l. The soil is ocean floor from the mid Pliocene period (5.3 to 2.6 million years ago), comprising of sedimentary clay, gravel sands and alluvial silt with marine fossils. Planting density c.5200 plants/ha. Yield: 35hl/ha. Cordon spur training method.
