A single malt built on heritage Goldthorpe barley tracing to 1889 in Yorkshire and reintroduced to Ireland in the early 1900s after a century away, delivering a refined, grain-forward Irish whiskey with historic depth. Waterford Heritage Goldthorpe Single Malt Irish 50% ABV Nose: Barley-forward with subtle zesty fruits and light leafy notes. A warm breadiness grounds the nose, with husks, porridge and honey interwoven with pot ale, while bright hints of orange, cured lemon and tart berries linger. Palate: Thick, oily and mouth-coating, it carries a peppery kick with warm apple sauce, ripe bananas and gingerbread, anchored by a hearty breadiness and a slightly dry finish. Finish: Medium length. Root-y, earthy and grainy pears. Also slightly herbacious. Maybe even some fennel.
