UNPASTEURISED — TRADITIONALLY FERMENTED IN NAGANO, JAPAN — Made to an old family recipe and traditionally aged by a third-generation artisan family producer who has been perfecting miso production since 1928 in Japan's Nagano prefecture. The surrounding mountains, clean air, and fresh water create ideal conditions for natural ageing and fermentation. HIGH IN PROTEIN — LOW IN SATURATED FAT — High in protein (11g per 100g) and low in saturated fat (0.8g per 100g). Energy: 701kJ / 167kcal per 100g. Carbohydrate: 16g per 100g. A live product — ongoing fermentation may cause the lid to bulge. It will still be safe to consume. Harmless white yeasts may develop from exposure to air — simply skim off. INCREDIBLY VERSATILE SEASONING — 1 tsp of miso seasons about 1 cup of liquid. Dissolve in a little water then add towards the end of cooking. Use to flavour soups, stews, bean dishes, gravies, dips, spreads, pickles, dressings for salads, noodles, grains, tofu, and grilled dishes. Avoid bringing to the boil once miso has been added. CERTIFIED ORGANIC & SUITABLE FOR VEGANS — Certified organic and suitable for vegans. Ingredients: organically grown whole soybeans (47%), organically grown cultured brown rice (33%), sea salt, water. Please note: not certified gluten free — may contain traces from cross contamination. Once opened, refrigerate and consume before the best before date. GREAT TASTE AWARD WINNER — Recognised by the Great Taste Awards for its great depth of flavour, described by judges as well rounded, balanced, and of real quality. Produced in Nagano prefecture by a family business with nearly 100 years of miso-making experience.
