Designer table lamp Kaiser idell™ Luxus with matt coloured lacquer and elegant brass frame This table lamp, whose exquisite Bauhaus design dates back to 1936 by Christian Dell, is not only a comfortable light source for many occasions, but also works as a furnishing accessory for an upscale living style when switched off. Kaiser idell™ Luxus is part of the legendary Kaiser idell™ lighting series, which began in 1931 and includes various table lamps, wall lamps, floor lamps and pendant lights. The table lamp is fitted with an asymmetrical lampshade made of metal with a matt coloured lacquer finish, which sits enthroned on an elegant brass frame. The designer Christian Dell (1893-1974), the creator of Kaiser Idell™, was a master of his trade. He initially trained as a silversmith, then studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts and in 1922 became master craftsman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in WEIMAR. In 1926, he moved to Frankfurt and took over the management of the art school there. His designs were always innovative and forward-looking. The Kaiser idell™ luminaire series (created in 1931) - including the Kaiser idell™ Luxus table lamp launched in 1936 - is produced by FRITZ HANSEN, the Danish lighting company that has been in existence since 1872 and is known beyond the borders of Denmark for its high-quality design products on the furniture and lighting market.
