After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, Weisdorf worked in the construction industry, amongst other things, and from 1961 to 1971 at the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, where he held the position of chief assistant to the chief architect. In the late 1960s, he set up his own studio in Copenhagen. The Multi-lite s Floor Lamp Chrome/Black was designed by Louis Weisdorf back in 1972. It consists of two inner, cylindrical lampshades while the two-quarter lampshades in a spherical shape make up the outer lampshades and can be rotated individually around the axis. The distinct lamp is easily adjusted from one setting to the other, directing the light upwards or downwards, or creating an asymmetrical or artistic light.
