Description
Lamp Masters
The H2O table lamp in Black is an excellent example of Barba Corsini’s classically modern design philosophy. H2O was created by Barba Corsini in collaboration with Joaquim Ruiz Millet, and its characteristic style was inspired by Corsini’s iconic PD2 standing lamp. The H2O table lamp provides light, life and character regardless of your preferred style of décor.
Barba Corsini was chosen in 1955 to renovate the attics at the prominent Antoni Gaudí landmark, La Pedrera. He transformed a laundry and storage area to 13 modern flats. In order to complete the architectural experience, Corsini designed and decorated the flats with his own designs, inspired by the characteristic appearance of the buildings.
In 1991, it was decided that the attics at La Pedrera should be restored in accordance with Gaudí’s original vision. The Corsini interiors were torn down and largely thrown away, but during the renovations the architect and gallery-owner Joaquim Ruiz Millet discovered the PD2 standing lamp and rescued it. Ruiz Millet started a collaboration with Corsini. recreating the original products and making them more accessible to the public.

Lights.coTable lamp Pedrera H2O: New edition of the classic from 1955 The simple beauty of the Pedrera H2O table lamp has lost none of its charm in all the years since its creation. Its decorative, cylindrical metal shade stands on filigree legs. Small holes are punched all around the cylinder, through which the radiating light can escape to all sides. The original design was by Barba Corsini, who carried out the conversion of the Casa Milà in Barcelona. His brief was to transform the attic into modern apartments in the building built between 1906 and 1912 by Antoni Gaudí, also known as the Quarry (La Pedrera) by the locals because of its enormous dimensions and irregular façade. As part of the redesign of the interior, the lighting series was created, which includes table lamps, floor lamps, pendant lamps and a glass table. When the Casa Milà was renovated in 1991, the gallery owner Joaquim Ruiz Millet discovered one of the lights. In cooperation with Barba Corsini, the original designs were revised. The Danish lighting and furniture manufacturer Gubi took over the production of the new edition.
