The Model 597 Cream Fringe table lamp is an innovative and interesting piece of design art, and has been since its introduction in 1961 by Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini. Model 597 was the light that put Frattini on the map of famous lamp designers. Since then, he has created exciting and creative lights, always with an unconventional and playful approach that rethinks the classic lighting concept. The light is shaped like a cylinder with nylon fringes on the outside, inspired in part by the fashion world and in part by the fringe curtains that were part of the inventory in shops and pubs in Italy in the 1950s. Behind the fringes are no fewer than seven E27 sockets arranged in a circle, which emit light in all directions. The light penetrates the fringes and creates pleasant indirect lighting around the light. Model 597 is available as a floor lamp and in a smaller version as a table lamp.
