ORIGIN: Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a plant (herb) in the mint family. It is native to south-central Europe, the Mediterranean region and Asia but nowadays it is cultivated worldwide. In the past it was initially cultivated near bee hives as it attracts honey bees. It since has been appreciated for its soothing and therapeutic properties. ABOUT: Our Melissa tea has mild, refreshing, minty undertones with a hint of lemon – bear in mind that dried Melissa (Lemon Balm) it’s nowhere near a lemony flavour like in a lemon tea as drying makes it lose some of its essential oils – after all it’s health benefits what matter most! BENEFITS: Lemon balm tea can help reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation and better sleep. Some believe that it may improve cognitive function and memory. It may also help in supporting digestive function, strengthening immune system and fighting off infections. USES: Enjoy on its own or with honey or sugar. Brew, cool down and add some ice cubes for a nice iced tea. Mix with other herbs like peppermint, chamomile. You can even use it in cooking – to add hints of mint to your dishes.
